About Us

I was an Art Teacher, so how did I get here?

October 5, 2015 was my daughter’s 30th birthday (when I was her age my mother was dying of metastatic breast cancer) and I had my annual mammogram.  Three days later I was called back for another mammogram and a sonogram.  That day the doctor came in and told me that I had to have a biopsy.  The result of that biopsy was that I had Invasive Ductile Carcinoma.  In fact, I had two malignant masses.  The following week I met with my surgeon and my surgery was scheduled for October 28.  I was lucky, I had no lymph node involvement.  I was unlucky in that my tumors were encased in Ductile Carcinoma In Situ, a different kind of breast cancer and it took two more surgeries to get clear margins.

So, at what point did I realize that there had to be a better bra?  Probably on October 29, 2015, the day after my surgery.  That said, after recovering from my surgery and its’ immediate discomfort, I kept thinking about it and talking about it with my poor husband.  One morning he turned to me and said “you need to do this”.  I started cutting up old t-shirts and sewing them into the first prototype!  It took about a year working with my first factory to realize that I needed a bra designer.

So that’s what brought me to where we are today.  After several tweaks I believe you have been provided with the most comfortable, definitely the softest, compression bra on the market.

It is my goal to give you comfort when you need it most, and I wish you health and wellness on your journey to recovery.

Thank you,

Mary
